Friday Night Funholio’s

Friday Night Funholio is the BackYard’s premier event. Every Friday night from September to the end of May, the BackYard is open to the public for an event that is a must if you are looking for a fun night of throwing bags. The atmosphere is relaxed, and it is a best way to have some, no pressure fun playing cornhole. It is the cheapest 5-6 hours of entertainment in town and guaranteed to be a good time.
Once a month the Funholio will have a band perform while we play cornhole.

When:
Every Friday Night @ 7:00 pm at the BackYard at the SCA – 2363 2nd Avenue
Arrive early to warm up & develop skills.
Cost: $20 per person ($25 on band nights)
Payouts: Yes, everyone has a chance to WIN money.
50% of entry will be paid out (depending on nightly # of participants, as many as 12 teams can be paid out)
Skill Level:  This night is perfect for all skill levels and is perfect for a group of friends looking for something fun to do on a Friday night.
Format: Simply put, Funholio or Switcholio is a format where you will get a different partner every game in the round-robin. After the round-robin, if you have had enough cornhole, you can remove yourself from the bracket. (Typically, around 9:00 – 9:30 PM) The people that stay will go onto the double-elimination-bracket.
Additional Information:
You will play 4- 6 round-robin games (depending on the number of entries) with partners that are randomly picked by the Scoreholio program. After the round-robin depending on your individual standings, the computer will randomly generate teams, matching the top half of the standings with the bottom half of the standings. This will be your partner for the rest of the night as you will play a double-elimination bracket to determine a winner.

Fundraiser Breakdown:
Ticket Prices:
Ticket prices are set by the fundraiser organizer.
Suggested retail is $35-$40 – 95 ticket max capacity

Food Options:
The BackYard at the SCA has a kitchen to purchase food
Outside catering can be brought in for a $100 clean-up fee

Prizes:
All prizes are the responsibility of the organizer.
Prizes are often gathered from donations.
If prizes are not gathered, financial prizes from ticket sales can be utilized
Prizing would be directed toward the top 3 teams in a tournament format, at the discretion of the organizer.

Additional Fundraiser Abilities:
If over 70 tickets are sold 10% of the bar sales (before taxes) will be given to the fundraiser.
In conjunction with the ticket sales organizers can generate additional funds by utilizing fun, quick mini games developed for the game of Cornhole. More details can be given with descriptions and instructions at the request of organizers.
50/50, silent auction etc. with a lotto license is also an option

The Format:  Switcholio
A fun event allowing all participants to play 4-6 games with random partners
Once all games are completed participants will be paired randomly for a playoff
Double elimination playoff is played to completion with a top 3 being recognized
6-8 games guaranteed depending on timeframe and attendance

The Cost:
The cost is $1000 plus taxes, plus $25 for design and printing of the tickets
$625 deposit will be required to secure the booking
The remaining amount owing will be due at the end of the event. (minus 10% alcohol if applicable)
All bags and tablets required for your games/tournament of choice
Knowledgeable Backyard team will run an intro to the game of Cornhole, as well as coaching on throwing techniques as required

Rental packages

Team Building, Corporate Rentals, Private Parties
The BackYard would like to invite you and your team to take part in a fully facilitated event surrounded by the well-known game of Cornhole.

We feature eight regulation Cornhole lanes, ample seating, a fully licensed bar with pub-style food, and the option to include a fully catered meal in your event.

Your evening would consist of a fun-filled evening of tossing bean bags and building relationships through randomized partnering with the option of playoffs if you want to crown a winner.
There is also the ability to enjoy time relaxing with a drink and a meal during breaks between games. All of this would be facilitated with a smooth schedule of events by the events team at the Backyard.
All scoring, team tracking, and scheduling are conducted electronically on screens throughout the BackYard to ensure accuracy and visual simplicity for participants.
We currently offer these event opportunities on Monday (Package #1), Wednesday (Package #1), Thursday evenings (PACKAGE #1 and #2) and Sundays (Package #1 and #2). We also offer both Packages in the afternoons.

PACKAGE #1 – HALF RENTAL
Four lanes reserved for your group.
3 -5-hour event
All required equipment to play
Seating area for your group
A choice of game/tournament options, with the most popular being a tournament called “Switcholio”
This would include 6-8 guaranteed games per person, with a double elimination playoff to crown the top 3 teams
No teams are required, as they are completely randomized until the playoff, where you and your partner are together until the playoff is complete
This package is recommended for groups of 35 or fewer.

PACKAGE #2 – FULL RENTAL
Eight lanes reserved for your group.
Your team will enjoy a private event at the BackYard at the SCA
3 -5-hour event
All required equipment to play
A choice of game/tournament options, with the most popular being a tournament called “Switcholio”
This would include 6-8 guaranteed games per person, with a double elimination playoff to crown the top 3 teams
No teams are required, as they are completely randomized until the playoff, where you and your partner are together until the playoff is complete
This package is recommended for groups of 35 -90 players.

LANE RENTALS or Friday night Funholio
If you are looking for a shorter time or do or need four lanes, the lane rental option may be an option.
